CEI: Making GaN
the Silicon of the 21st Century

CEI is finally out of stealth mode

Welcome to our website. After more than 3 years quietly working  on Cambridge Electronics (CEI)'s technology, we can finally announce that it is ready.

It is definitely a very exciting time for all of us at CEI as we look forward to engaging with new partners and customers to take full advantage of the opportunities enabled by our unique GaN technology.

At CEI, we like to say that Gallium Nitride (GaN) is the Silicon of the 21st century. Just like the way Silicon changed information processing in the second half of the 20th century, today GaN is quickly revolutionizing the way we use and process energy. The unique properties of GaN allow the development of high voltage switches (the basic component of energy processing circuits) that offer orders of magnitude better performance than today's Silicon-based devices.

GaN is now one of the most widely used semiconductors in the world (second only after silicon), and its use in solid state lighting is now a >$15 billion industry. At CEI we are leveraging this industry, and the economies of scale enabled by this industry, to change the way power electronics is done.

Again, thank you for visiting CEI's new website. We trust this will be the first of many visits and interactions with CEI.
